We're Coming Home!!

So as some of you probably have heard, Daniel secured a great job as a forester for Allegheny Wood Product (AWP) and he couldn't be more excited!  This is pretty much what he went into Forestry for.  Much to Pappy's dismay about moving us home, he is quite excited we're going to be living right out the road on the family farm.  Nothing makes me happier than the thought of being home around family during the remainder of this pregnancy!  I will be seeking certification to get my substitute teaching license so I can work a couple days a week and be at home with our little one as much as possible!  Daniel will be moving home the first weekend in October, and then coming back for me on October 9th!

Pregnancy Is Not All It's Cracked Up To Be

To say the least, I have not been enjoying this pregnancy so far.  I have had pretty much every symptom under the sun, and have been quite miserable.  I feel that it's so hard to connect with this baby and actually feel like a Mommy-To-Be when I've been this sick.  I am 11 weeks today and starting to feel a little better.  Daniel is really getting excited about the whole baby thing.  Right now, we're contemplating names.  For a girl, we're considering Paityn Rena (pronounced Renee) with Rena being my late Aunt Vickie's middle name, and either Trevor or Brantley Leonard for a boy.  Leonard is Daniels late Father's first name, as well as the Daddy-To-Be's middle name.  Oh well, we have 29 weeks to think about it!  I am attaching a picture of my 8 week ultrasound, where I measured 7 weeks 5 days.  I am eagerly awaiting my 12 week appointment this coming Monday!

The Cats Out of the Bag....WE'RE PREGNANT!

Well after almost 8 months of trying and many failed attempts and issues with ovarian cysts, we finally got our positive pregnancy test (5 of them!).  Right now my EDD is March 9th, 2011, but upon visiting the OB Thursday with a little scare, the baby only measured 6W4D, putting my EDD March 12, 2011.  I have my "real" first OB appointment Monday, July 26th at 9:30 a.m. for all of the "fun" tests and another ultra sound!  Here is a picture of our first glimpse of our little "Lima Bean".

Fun with our Ponies!

As many of you know, without the blessing of children in our lives right now, we have plenty of fun with our 7 "kids".  We have 3 horses (PI, Poker and Dakotah), 3 blue heelers (Jazz, Justin and Jericho) and one cat (Lonnie).  I have recently taken interest in a sport called competitive trail riding.  We go on nice little rides and in the midst we have obstacles to maneuver for a score.  Being a more laid back individual, but still enjoying good competition, this is perfect for me!  Below is a picture of me winning 3rd (no, not out of 3, out of 7) at my last competition at Quarter Turn Ranch!  Dan is still doing his team roping and getting quite good, but due to this rain his last 3 have been cancelled.  He has one this Saturday, so I hope to update you with a picture soon!

A Visit From The Folks!

On the weekend of May 14th, we had a wonderful visit from my Nan, Pappy, brother Adam, and his fianc'e Amanda.  Living 2 states away is so difficult, and it takes pretty much a day to drive down, so we take advantage of what little time we get with each other.  The 14th also just happened to be my Pappy's birthday, so we surprised him with a good vegetable pizza for lunch and a John Deere colored birthday cake!  We didn't partake in anything special, but rather just enjoyed each others company.  We are hoping to take a week off in July or August to just come home and spend our "vacation" with family and friends!

Welcome!

Welcome to our new blog!  I am very new to this so bare with me as I figure everything out!  For those of you who are way behind, Dan and I are currently living in our new home in Decatur, TN.  Dan is working as a utility forester contractor with EPB in Chattanooga, and I am working as Rhea County's   4-H Extension Agent.  We currently have a little "family" consisting of 3 horses, P.I., Poker and Dakotah, 3 blue heelers, Jazz, Justin, and Jericho, and a strange cat named Lonnie.
